Gun laws vary greatly from state to state. To purchase a shotgun or rifle in New Jersey, you need to have in your possession a state of New Jersey Firearms Purchaser ID Card. To purchase a handgun, you need a Handgun Purchase Permit in addition to your ID Card. If purchasing a firearm to be shipped to another state, be sure to check local state laws.
